A peace-filled life. So the journals are a piece of it, but I wanted to really dig in with you all and share all the bits and pieces.
The treasures that I have found that ground and root me. The ways that I dig in deep and search out peace throughout my life. There are so many parts to this journey.
Daily time in my bible. Peace-fueling books. Vitamins. Eating well. Hydrating. Pretty pieces of jewelry that point me back to my safety verse. Mindfulness in yoga, beautiful bookmarks in my books and prints on my walls. I want you to have them all. So I am collecting it all together for you. Bit by bit. A sweet collection of all the things.
Because what I want for you… is peace.
This is where it all starts. Snuggled up in these volumes of love. I’m not a bible scholar, so having a bible that reads easy and that has explanations. It’s everything. It’s also just so pretty.
Reading good things and filling my mind up with the advice of peace and love seeking authors. Such goodness. I’ve put together a book list for you and will add to it as I read.
Fresh Air & Big Skies
If there was a link I could give you to connect you to nature, I would… but there just isn’t. I’m just making sure that it isn’t overlooked that being outdoors and being in big spaces with your toes in the earth is rooting.
You know that the beach with all its fresh air, waves, and sand is good for your soul. I have this original painting that helps me feel like I am at the beach every single day. Susan Anderson. The little 8x8s. Simply incredible.
I love my church. I love that our pastor digs into chapter and verse with us. If you are seeking peace… I would love to have you take 35 minutes and give this a listen.
Bookmarks in my books; prints on my wall.
The absolute most talented graphic designer… Isabela Schielke. Follow her. Buy all the things she creates. Because every single one helps me lean in closer.
Do you have quiet spaces in your life where anxious thoughts try to peek back in? The quiet spaces are the hardest for me. So when I feel the tightness coming, worship music re-centers.
Vitamins
I was tested a while back and am naturally short on a bunch of vitamins. This is my prompting to make sure that you aren’t missing any important vitamins in your life.
I have one that says Psalm 18:30, which is my safety verse… the verse I say out loud every time fear shows up. Another says ‘breathe’ as a reminder to slow and just be still and calm. Lucky Lark. These charms are perfection.
Connections
This is another one that I wish I could just link something for you, but there’s not really a link. What I have found is that when I’m focused on the relationships in my life - really connecting with people I love… I’m more peaceful.
Nature Inside
Buy a basil plant. Stop by the farmer’s market and pick up fresh cut flowers. It’s no secret that for me, being in the outdoors… with big fresh skies and surrounded in nature is soothing, so why not bring a little of that into your home.
Movement
It always seems to be at the bottom of my list…. not because it’s not important - but because its hard for me (when it’s not tied to adventuring). The things is, when I move my body, get in those steps, I truly feel better.
